I made something similar yesterday with pretty much no research either and I had the same mistake with overfilling!! In my first batch, I filled the cones too full and every single one of them overflowed and ran down the side. We just frosted them anyway, and pretended that it was the "ice cream" dripping down the cone. I used regular sized ice cream cones and baked them in my regular muffin tin and didn't have any trouble with them tipping over. That rack would have been perfect for transporting them as that was rather a nightmare!

That's a great idea! The first time I made these I used a kitchen contraption too and it worked great.

I don't know if anyone already mentioned this but to save $$, using a cupcake tin, I used cupcake wrappers filled about 1/4 full with raw rice. Settling the flat-bottomed cones into the rice stabilized them perfectly. No specialty apparatus needed!

Hi Kara, I am not sure how many you will get for the jumbo size since I used the mini ones but my guess would be about 12-18. Also, fill the cones about 3/4 full to leave room for rising. I hope that helps!
