I haven't tried it with any other sweeteners unfortunately but I think granulated sugar would work here.

Thank you for this recipe! My Gramma used to make avocado ice cream with lime and it was my fave but unfortunately nobody has the recipe :( so I’m looking fwd to making this.
One question I have is what can I used instead of honey or maple syrup to sweeten? I don’t mind the bars not being vegan. Do y’all think sweetened condensed milk would work?

After a day of making and shooting recipes my kitchen was a total disaster...I think I cleaned it 3 times today, ugh. I agree that the joy of blogging is meeting so many wonderful people, it's amazing! It's a lot of work, indeed can be messy in all kinds of ways..but there are so many things that make it 100% worth it! Thanks for the yummy recipe :)

Hi Krista! I'm so glad you liked the topping! It was my favorite part, too :) As for the crust, I'm really sorry it wasn't working out! The crust is thinner, but I'm surprised it wasn't covering the pan. You can always double or 1-1/2 the crust recipe. It is really sticky before it is frozen, but it firms up after being in the freezer and fridge. Let me know how it turns out! I'm so glad you tried it!

I just made these, they're in the freezer as I type! First of all I sampled the topping and it was DELICIOUS! I love avocado but I'm glad that these don't taste like avocado. I think I'm going to make these for my Dad (huge omnivore, anti-health nut), I don't think he'll have a clue. Anyway, my only frustration was with the crust, I ended up putting it in a smaller square container because I was struggling to get it to even cover the entire bottom because it was thin but also because it was so sticky. Am I the only one with this problem? I even double checked that I had the right amount of all the ingredients and I did. Consequently there is a very thick topping, I hope it sticks together when I try to serve.
