I was looking for a simple cake that I could travel with and not have to worry about layers. This cake is very moist and easy to make. Just the right amount of cake for a party of 8.

We still visit my in-laws a few times a year and always do a fall trip because there is nothing like an Upstate NY fall. We loved the orchards in the area. I havent been to Critz farms but I will try it next fall we are up visiting my in-laws

I was looking for a cake to use up my applesauce and buttermilk and this fits the bill. I have not made it yet but I was reading a bit of your bio and wanted to say hello neighbor! I grew up in Baldwinsville, NY, graduated from Baker High and also frequented many of the local apple farms in the area. The last was Critz Farms in Cazenovia and aside from the apples, pumpkins, jams and other goodies, my late boyfriend brought home a growler of their on-site brewed beer.

Autumn is by far my favorite season as well and I look forward to making this delicious looking recipe. Thank you!
