The holiday season is upon us! One of my favorite times of the year and needless to say I love dressing up for the season. From holiday parties to family pictures for greeting cards, everyone brings out their best outfits. One of my go-to for the season is a classic holiday red sweater.

I’ve had different versions in the past few years with different styles but one thing that remains is the bold, bright color. It’s striking and perfect for the holiday season. I’ve paired this red sweater with a pair of skinny jeans and a plaid blanket scarf. Easy, simple and chic for late fall Thanksgiving and holiday season.

It’s been a while since we had one of our Fashion Fridays. I know it is late in the season but I didn’t get around to sharing with you any of my favorite fall pieces this year. Before the season ends and the snow gets here, let’s talk about the one (or two) must-haves in the fall –  cozy fall sweaters. They are versatile, warm (duh!) and fun to mix-and-match with different statement pieces. For my wardrobe, I love bold colors and patterns but every now and then I go for a more classic piece like this green open-front sweater.

Nothing beats the crisp fall air with a cozy sweater, favorite scarf and boots. For most of you, there’s another 6 weeks of fall left. So be sure to shop for some new cozy fall sweaters. For those of us in the northeast, winter is just around the corner. Layer up!

Gosh it’s been too long since I did a Fashion Fridays post on here. No excuse beyond having a baby, getting busy and never having time to a) shop and b) take care of myself to look presentable in front of a camera. But thanks to my girl pal Allie, I was able to get these pictures the other day we were in NYC for an event.

Today marks the 500th post that I have published on this blog!! While almost 490 of those are dessert recipes, it is time I reclaimed the “blahnik” in Blahnik Baker with a few more fashion, lifestyle and outfit posts. You will have to bear with me because I am not one to stand in front of the camera but I will try to share with you some of the trends and outfits that excite me.

Back to today’s outfit featuring some of my favorite fall hues. I am loving the warm and beautiful fall we are having. Especially the colors!!! Warm, earthy tones with pops of color. My fall wardrobe is filled with lots of grays, mustard yellow, dark green (emerald-ish) and BURGUNDY. So it was very easy to pull together this outfit as I hoped on a plane for a day trip to the city.

These burgundy Nine West heels (my new favorite for work!) inspired a whole shopping trip to find new pieces to wear with it. Isn’t it amazing how a pair of shoes can change everything? Wait…Cinderella established that ages ago.

If you haven’t picked up a fall piece with some burgundy in it, get on it! Get a statement print blouse, a bold pair of pants or heels. Just don’t wear all together. Try to pair it with neutral tones like gray or earthy browns. Check out my Fall Outfits Pinterest board for more inspiration.

Hi friends! It’s been WAY too long since we had an edition of Fashion Fridays. The last we spoke I was very pregnant and wearing a whole different wardrobe. But I think it’s time for some bright, bold Spring pieces like this pink plaid shirt.

The thing about having a baby is that you grow immensely in more ways than you knew possible, especially in your relationship with your body. You journey through very many emotions from hating that you are getting big, to accepting it, to realizing wow, I am growing a human so I should be getting big, to amazement in what your body can do and finally to loving your body for all it’s wonders. Well, at least that was my journey and I am sure it is different for every woman who goes through childbirth but I do hope that we all come out of it embracing the amazing transformation we went through and loving the new curves, lines and bodies that nourish our babies, regardless of the size.

This spring, I am looking forward to wearing more bold colors and patterns!! I am a sucker for plaid, blocks and prints and this top from Stitch Fix, lit up my day when I received it. It was perfect for our little weekend getaway to Orlando a few weeks ago. I love how it moves with you, how bright it is and spring perfect!

What are some of your staple Spring wardrobe pieces? I love flats, colored skinny jeans and patterned tops.

• Try a structured jacket. Jackets are a great way to create clean and soft lines in your wardrobe. They are not only for work.

• Another great way to be a boss lady is to wear a smart skirt. Every woman looks good in a pencil skirt. And you can play around with the colors, textures, and lengths (remember be BOLD).
