Peanut Butter Chocolate and Banana Chip Granola
This hearty peanut butter granola is packed with nuts, chocolate and banana chips making it an indulgent healthy breakfast/ snack treat.
You all know by now that I am a huge fan of easy, grab-to-go breakfasts. Try as I may, I am always running late so having a power breakfast on-the-go keeps my mornings less stressful. Granola is perfect for this and I find myself making a new batch once or twice a month. I shared this recipe for peanut butter chocolate and banana chip granola a few weeks ago over at Or so She says where I am a monthly recipe contributor.
A few months ago I shared my favorite staple granola recipe, this Coconut Almond Granola and it is the one I go to always to experiment with. Sadly, I am not the only one who lives in this house so from time to time I have to indulge my peanut butter junkie husband. This peanut butter chocolate and banana chip granola combines two of his favorite things (and a lot of yours too!); peanut butter and chocolate.
Don’t let all the chocolate fool you, this granola is filled with lots of other delicious goodies. Oats, almonds, flaxseed, peanut butter and of course a little chocolate because peanut butter and chocolate is the best combination. When I made these I was in a hurry to get my pictures done before heading out so I added the chocolate chips before the granola was completely cooled. The melty mess above was the result but it sure tasted delicious! This is perfect for breakfast with yogurt (my favorite) or with milk (the hubs’ fave). It is also a great afternoon pick-me-up snack or post-gym munchies.

My husband is a granola fanatic. He enjoys with his glass of kefir in the morning and as an afternoon snack while sitting at his desk. If I packed this up for him I know I would have one happy hubby.
p.s. I love that chevron striped towel. Where did you get it?
Mine loves this one as well!! Hope you make it for your hubby!! I got the chevron towel from Joann’s fabric. It’s actually fabric for curtains that a friend of mine got and she gave me the scraps lol!
Granola and yogurt is my g0-to breakfast, obviously I would love this peanut butter and chocolate variation!

I’m always a fan of grab and go breakfast! Sounds delicious, especially with the banana chips!
Yes banana chips are the best!!
Pretty much my two favorite things in my favorite breakfast of all time! I want to dive into that bowl and stay there! 😉 I always have the hardest time photographing granola – you nailed it!
Thanks Mary Frances! Granola is hard to photograph but perseverance apparently helps lol!
I am loving everything about this granola. Peanut Butter, Chocolate, and Banana Chips…. I don’t think it gets much better than this! This would be the perfect way to start off the day 🙂
Thanks Kathi!! It is a great start to the day 🙂
Hmm, I can see myself munching on this at work, dreaming of not being at work. 😉 Love this recipe, Zainab. Pinned!
Thanks Julie!!
Yes, why is it that whatever time I get up I end up being just a little bit late and not really having time for a proper breakfast? You’ve reminded me once again with this recipe that I really need to make some homemade granola as the supermarket versions never seem to quite cut it. I LOVE the combinations you have going on here … peanut butter, chocolate, banana … all my favourites! Pinning this for later!
Helen I know!! I am always running a tad behind lol! This is way better than store bought and I hope you get to try it 🙂
It’s been a while since I’ve made my own granola but this is making me think I may have to do it again soon! I strongly endorse eating chocolate for breakfast whenever the opportunity arises.
I definitely agree that peanut butter and chocolate is wonderful combination! In anything! Such granola would be a nice sweet treat for me.
Oh yum! I love making homemade granola, but I never remember to make it (I guess I get sidetracked by all the cookies and cupcakes I’m making instead, haha). But I love that you added banana chips to yours. I’m sure it provides a nice crunchy texture! And I’m always running late in the morning, as well. Perhaps this recipe will help my punctuality as well! Hope you’re having a great week!
Jamie, this granola did not help my punctuality lol! I brought a tub to work and left it there so I wont have to grab breakfast in the morning but I still run late :p
Confession…I am also a peanut butter junkie!! And I can’t wait to try this!
Yum, I love the sound of this granola Zainab! Chocolate and peanut butter always make me happy and the banana chips are such a great addition – pinning 🙂
I love that the chocolate is melted a little bit so you get chocolate in every bite! And I love that there’s banana chips too! I have a container of banana chips in my cupboard- I’m totally making this!
Thanks Allie!! The melty chocolate is really delicious 🙂
ooh banana chips, Zainab you know I love granola, I can’t wait to try this 🙂 pinning
Thanks Emily!
Now this looks like a perfect POWER breakfast!! Yum!!
Yummy homemade granola is always a WIN! Love the PB and Banana combo, too.
Sounds delicious!!! PB and Chocolate for the win and I love granola!
I have a peanut butter with banana every day for lunch! It’s always been one of those combinations that just never fails. I have a newfound obsession with granola, but have yet to make any of my own. I’ve got to try this out. I know I’d love it!
I am making this next week. Sans chocolate for my toddler but definitely making it. Yummy!
I didn’t know you were a recipe contributor – that’s amazing!
Thanks dear. Yeah I failed to mention it here 🙁
LOVE this. This is so up my alley. I was just thinking the other day about making my own granola it’s so easy, but I never seem to get around to it. I really love the banana chips and chocolate tossed in there. Thanks for sharing, Zainab! 😀 😀 😀
Toodles,
Tammy<3
Tammy it is so easy!! Do it dear 🙂
BEST. GRANOLA. EVERRRRR!!!
This is probably the 1000th time I am saying this. But peanut butter and chocolate makes me SO happy. this granola would be the ultimate breakfast x
Mmm I love me some granola! And yes chocolate always goes well with peanut butter. 🙂
ALWAYS!!!
Love the sound of this granola! I make my own granola all the time so this one will be an excellent choice to put in rotation. Love the addition of the flax seed! Thanks for posting in Wake Up Wednesdays.
Thanks Linda! Flaxseed adds an extra layer of crunch and of course some fiber 🙂 Hope you get to try this!!
I’m definitely going to have to give this granola a try. It looks so sinful for being healthy, and I love the PB+Choc+Banana flavor combo!
The boys LOVE granola and yours look SO good Zainab! I need to make this soon!
Hi Zainab
Your granola looks so yummy!
Thank you for sharing.
Chantal
Thanks Chantal!!
I would love to make this with almond butter instead.
This pretty much combines all of my favorite ingredients! I am leaving for a trip this week, and am thinking this granola might be great to bring along for a healthy “get-up-and-go” meal. Thanks so much for the recipe (already pinned!)
The flavor combo here couldn’t get any more perfect! This sounds so good that I don’t think I’d be able to stop at a handful ;–)
Yum! This looks so good, I’ve already pinned it! I’m with you, time seems to slip away in the morning when I’m trying to get myself ready to go and the family.
Thanks for a great go to breakfast recipe!
Oh my goodness, does this look heavenly. Me and my sweet tooth are imagining a dessert granola mixed with vanilla ice cream! 🙂
This is a fantastic granola recipe! Love these photos too! I’m going to be featuring this recipe on SNF this Saturday! Thanks for linking up 🙂
G’day from Oz! Many thanks for linking up to the Say G’Day Saturday link up and sharing this great recipe. I’ve just pinned it.
Best wishes,

Seeing as you can’t go wrong with the ingredients, I made this recipe for party favors and it was a huge success! This RECIPE IS WORTH IT! It’s delicious, perfectly balanced and a big crowd pleaser. Our party was outside, and it just so happened to be really hot that day, so the chocolate ended up melting. BUT, when I make this again, I’d like to mimic that on purpose as it added so much to deliciousness of the granola. Thank you!
That is so GREAT to hear Kristen!! I am glad they worked as party favors (what a great idea!!). Thanks for letting us know you loved the recipe. And now I want to try melting the chocolate a little bit too lol!
