I felt these red velvet cheesecake brownies would be perfect for Valentine’s Day or any time of the year. They combine two of my favorite desserts, which always feels like a great idea!

Red Velvet Cheesecake Brownie Ingredients

You only need a few ingredients to make these red velvet cream cheese brownies.

  • a few large eggs
  • granulated sugar
  • pure vanilla extract
  • unsalted butter
  • red gel food coloring
  • all purpose flour
  • cocoa powder
  • pinch of salt
  • cream cheese

How to Make Red Velvet Cheesecake Brownies

Preheat oven to 350 F. Grease and line an 8-by-8-inch pan with parchment.

Whisk eggs, sugar, and vanilla together until well combined in a large bowl.

Whisk in the melted butter and food coloring.

Finally, whisk in flour, cocoa powder, and salt until well combined.

Spread all but about 3 tablespoons into the prepared baking pan.

In a separate bowl, beat together the filling ingredients until well combined.

Pour the cheesecake filling over the brownie batter in the baking pan.

Dot with remaining brownie batter, and swirl with a butter knife.

Bake in the center of the oven for about 30  minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the middle comes out clean.

Remove from oven and let cool completely before slicing and serving.

How to Store Cheesecake Brownies

You can store red velvet cream cheese brownies at room temperature for up to 2 days in an airtight container. They keep for a week in the fridge or up to 3 months in the freezer.

  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon red gel food coloring (I use wilton no-taste)
  • ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup cocoa powder
  • Pinch of salt

Cheesecake Filling:

  • 8 ounce cream cheese, softened
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
